SYNOPSIS

Ivan Vasilyevich, a long-time neighbor of Stepan Stepanovich, has come to propose marriage to Stepanovich's 25-year-old daughter, Natalia. After the father gives Ivan his blessing, Natalia is invited into the room and he tries to convey to her the proposal.
